Saltbox & Co is a small family business selling seasonal cut flowers grown on our freehold in the Slad Valley. We rented an acre of untamed land from a neighbouring farmer, rolled up our sleeves and set to work stone picking and digging.
We started by growing the plants we knew and loved, but before the season was out our field was exploding with the offbeat and unusual flowers that now inspire our mail order bouquets and bridal work.
Our apprentice takes a well earned break.
A graduate of Stroud Art College, Imogen is a former cabinetmaker. She switched the lathe for the trowel in 2010 when she became a professional gardener and co-founder of Saltbox & Co.
With over twenty years of gardening experience, Annette returned to the Slad Valley in 1979, transforming their Saltbox home into a successful freehold where she has reared herds of cows, pigs, ducks, goats and geese, grown heritage vegetables and even smoked her own garlic. Annette is a sought after horticultural consultant and garden advisor.
